Welcome to the lab, Virag! Virag will conduct her CNS Research Masters project in the lab over the coming year, examining the role of automatic and controlled processes in assessments of trust.
We bid a fond farewell to Achiel as he leaves for his new Postdoctoral position at the University of Vienna. Congratulations to him on the approval of his dissertation, and we look forward to welcoming him back for his PhD defense and graduation early in 2023. Good luck in Austria Achiel, and thanks for all of your contributions to the lab over the past years!
Some positive mid-Summer news as the lab received an Open Competition grant from NWO (Dutch Science Foundation). This award of Euro 750,000 over 5 years will fund a project investigating the impact of inequality on our decision-making processes. The project will use novel experimental tasks in conjunction with new methods in brain imaging and computational approaches to specifically examine both how we judge whether certain divisions of resources are unfair, and also how the consequences of inequality can impact decision-making in important, societally-relevant, ways.
