During Jeroen's visit to the United States (from which he will return pretty soon!), he has attended and given a talk at the Data Blitz at the New England Research on Decision-Making (NERD) symposium, held at Brown University (Providence, RI, USA).
After years of hard work and study, Xu has finally (and very successfully) defended her thesis. Having reached this milestone, Dr. Gong will soon be leaving our lab to go on to be an associate professor in China, but we hope she will be visiting us regularly in the years to come. Congratulations on your great thesis, Xu, and we wish you all the best in your future scientific career!
It is with sadness that we have said goodbye to Peter Vavra, one of DNL's PhD students, who is now off to Magdeburg, Germany, to continue his academic career as a postdoc after a fruitful couple of years at the DNL. Luckily, you'll have something to remember us - and yourself - by! Good luck in Germany, Peter!
