Vincent has obtained a bachelor's degree in Biology and a master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience. In 2010, Vincent started his PhD at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus Center for Neuroeconomics (with Prof Ale Smidts as promotor).
His research interests include emotional and social influences on economic decision making and consumer choice.
Vincent's daily work at the Erasmus Center for Neuroeconomics he conducts in the lab of Prof Alan Sanfey at the Donders Institute, combining behavioural experiments with brain imaging methods.

In his first project, he studied the influence of social status on the neural response to feedback indicating success or failure.
His most recent work is on neural processes during movie trailers viewing. By analysing the dynamic neural response over time, it is possible to predict individual preference and population-wide success of movies.
