After two years of studying Artificial Intelligence I decided I wanted to study more about humans besides the more technical study of programming. However, my current study in psychology has an open-ended side to its conclusions sometimes which kept my interest on the exact side of the subject.
My interest for decision science specifically was mostly sparked when I found out about models that used data from earlier patients to accurately predict diagnoses on possible future patients given their test results. This made me very curious about how it is possible to capture human behaviour in sometimes quite simple models. It pleases me to see a structure in behaviour and being able to predict it.
Besides my study I work in a home for elderly who all have a form of dementia. Working here is fascinating and a reminder of how hard it is to predict behaviour of others. With this subgroup of people, it is like having them in a new situation every time, yet they can respond differently every time.
Apart from my studying I also like to study the Italian language and do yoga and ballet. Besides that, I like my work at the elderly home and to volunteer for refugees and at summer camps for mentally disabled.
My goal for the future is to keep being curious and keep learning about what I am interested in and maybe even make it my job.
