After two fantastic weeks I have finally returned to the Donders Institute from the Kavli Summer Institute Cognitive Neuroscience!
Together with 70 other fellows from all over the world, we gathered at the University of California Santa Barbara to learn all about the state of the art in Cognitive Neuroscience. We attended lectures every morning from distinguished scientific leaders of different areas of the field and got hands on experience with new emerging methods in lab sessions in the afternoon. This, together with an intimate atmosphere, a group of incredibly intelligent, fun people and the beach around the corner, made the last two weeks priceless!
Thanks for everything guys, I'm looking forward to the reunion!
Inge has been accepted to the the Kavli Summer Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience in Santa Barbara, USA. This two-week summer school will be focussing on Brain Circuits in Behavior and Cognition and the Stressed Brain. Stay tuned for a more detailed report when Inge returns!
Inge has been to New York for the Social Affective Neuroscience Society's annual conference, where she presented her poster titled "Everyday decision-making under scarcity". Inge herself has described the experience as follows. "The Social and Affective Neuroscience Society Conference in New York was an extremely informative and fun time. Jay van Bavel and Mauricio Delgado did a great job organizing it. There were lots of very interesting talks by Mahzarin Banaji, Malcolm Gladwell, John Caccioppo and Matt Lieberman. On top of that, the conference is relatively small and has an intimate atmosphere which was great for presenting my poster. A lot of people showed interest and I received great feedback and enthusiasm about my work from colleagues from the field. Overall a great experience!"
